What's your favorite?  I'm really in love with the chevron pattern from Fossil.  It may not be the most expensive or most trendy brand, but their leather is always fabulous and the bags really last.  I also love the backpack trend!!  Hello 90s, nice to see you again!  I remember these trendy bags when I was in 5th grade... I'm seriously considering digging through my closet at my parents' house to see if I can find my maroon, teal and black backpack.  That would be SO HOT right now.

mockingbird styles swim meet

What's better than a pool party in the middle of the Texas summer?  The answer is a pool party with great food and drinks, that showcases some fabulous style trends!  Enter Mockingbird Station in Dallas.  These guys were kind enough to host a Swim Meet for a few Dallas bloggers and InstaDFW photographers, and I was lucky enough to be one of the fashion influencers/ bloggers invited!

RAW Dallas

If you're in Dallas (or the DFW area) and you happen to be looking for something to do tonight, you may want to check out GLIMPSE presented by RAW Dallas at the Gas Monkey Live.  I had an opportunity to attend an event a short while ago and it was really spectacular!  The great thing about this event is that it showcases local artists in a variety of different mediums including art, fashion, music, film, hair, makeup, performance art and photography.

Many artists had booths set up that you can browse at your leisure, while other artists where showcased on Gas Monkey's large stage.  I was lucky enough to be in the VIP lounge and had some great food and drinks available, as well as nice seating for watching the musical performances and fashion show.  I can't show all of my pictures, otherwise you'd be here scrolling for the next two hours instead of getting your tickets, but I will show a few highlights so you can get a feel for the event (Don't worry, I'll go a little more in depth with the fashion presentations in future posts).  If you're NOT in Dallas, no problem!  RAW does artist showcases in 60+ cities all across the country and even in Australia!  Check out the upcoming events calendar and see if something is near you!

Clearance Maxi

I feel like I haven't been shopping in forever!  My husband probably loves that LOL... not me!  But when you have Kohls cash, you don't pass it up!  Especially on a holiday weekend with a ton of sales!  So last Friday I ventured to Kohls, one of my favorite stores, with the goal of finding something new that was red, white and blue.  I did purchase a cute American flag shirt, which you may have seen on my instagram HERE and HERE, but that wasn't all I bought (shocker!!)

In addition to $10 Kohls cash, I had two email coupons for $5 each so I browsed both the women's section and the juniors' (don't hate, I shop both! Especially since the juniors' is often way cheaper and super trendy).  I didn't find much that I was dying over, but I did take some time to peruse the clearance racks and found a really cute Lily Rose Halter Maxi Dress in the juniors'.

Let's talk tunics

Texas summers call for versatile pieces.  I'm absolutely loving tunics for just that reason.  You may have seen me wear this outfit at Main Street Arts Festival this year! (see here on Instagram)
I've had this tunic for awhile now.  It was a fabulous purchase at Stein Mart a few seasons ago, and every time I've worn it, I get a compliment and get asked where I found it.  I love Stein Mart because you can find boutique/unique clothing at extremely affordable prices.  They even have a specific "boutique" section on their website and in their stores where you can find interesting clothes at huge discounts compared to department stores.  I love checking in store, since you always find something different.

Zomato: all in one food app

If you follow my Instagram, I'm sure you've noticed by now that I like to eat... a lot.  I love to share my food journey with my followers!  So I was thrilled when the beautiful Alyssa from Zomato reached out to me collaborate!
{a few of my recent food posts on instagram}
Torchy's Tacos
Vickery Cafe
Gino's East
To be honest, I'm not a major "app" person.  Yes, I use social media apps like facebook, instagram and twitter like crazy, but beyond that, I don't really find it necessary to download every single app that hits the market.  I'm much more of a "plug it into google" kind of girl... how "old-fashioned" huh? ;-)  But, if I do come across an app that makes my life easier, especially one with a social component, I'm happy to give it try!

Heartbreaker Vest + Giveaway

I am an 80s child!  Perhaps you can tell from my obsession with neon colors..?  With me, the brighter, the better.  And I'm always in love with mixing tons of color... I'm not really down with a pop of just one.  With the latest craze for denim, I'm also loving the return of frayed jeans and acid washed items!

Trend: Cobalt Blue

Blue is my favorite color.  I love everything from soft baby blue to deep, rich tones like cobalt.  Cobalt blue has been trending for awhile now and it's not looking like it's going out anytime soon.  I love that this color works on pretty much every skin tone, and that it's bold enough to make a statement on it's own!

casual chic pants party

Casual chic.  Is there anything better than feeling crazy comfortable but also looking fashionable?  I think not.  Hence the reason I'm obsessed with comfy, patterned pants.  Whether they are jogger pants or wide-leg palazzo pants, I love a colorful pants party!

History with a Twist recap

A few weeks ago Chris and I were honored to attend a great Dallas event called History with a Twist.  It was a fabulous 1920s charity event held at Dallas Heritage Village.  Today I wanted to share a few of my photos! (sorry they're not the best quality, I only took cell phone pics)

I threw together my outfit the day of, just hours before leaving!  So I'm actually pretty impressed with myself for feeling so 20s... especially my hair... which I pulled out of my ass first try after staring at pinterest pics for about an hour.  And it only took me like 2 hours LOL! Hey! Have you seen how much hair I have?
