Valentines Day Gift Guide: CUTSIE GIRL

I love Valentine's Day and it's quickly approaching!  Whether you love or hate the holiday, I bet there is some kind of love in your life to celebrate: significant other, friends, family.  I know many fabulous bloggers that share guides based on price (which is very helpful!) but I've decided to share based on the personality of the girl you're shopping for.

Today I'm starting a mini series of gift guides, starting out with the CUTSIE GIRL.  Here's some fun, affordable gifts for others or yourself!

fragrance favorites

I don't usually branch out much in my fragrances.  I've always had a few that I like and stick with.  I don't often go out and buy a fragrance for myself because it seems to me like it's the perfect gift for someone else to give me.

Whether you're looking for a fragrance to buy for yourself, or you're wanting to add a new smell to your wishlist... today I decided to share my favorites and why.  Valentine's Day is quickly approaching!!

italian meatballs

Last night we had a banquet for our Mary Kay unit to celebrate our successes and it was a yummy Italian feast!  I love potluck occasions because they help me branch out in my cooking.  So of course I decided to volunteer to bring something I had never made before, and then waited until the last minute to find a recipe and cook up a storm.

pairing pantones

I love the idea of pairing the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year with the newest Pantone chosen colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity!  This may not be the first combination that comes to your mind when you go to your closet, but I think it's a beautiful, unexpected color scheme.  It's a time of year when we want to start thinking about spring and what the newest trends will be.   Plus, this winter is especially loving softer, pastel colors and winter whites.  But we've also all just spent money over the holidays and may have even gained a few pounds (don't say it's just me, please)... so right this minute it may not be the wisest thing to rush out and buy new pieces.

flyaway moto jacket

I don't do well with cold weather.  I mean seriously, I'm cold when it's like 65 degrees outside.  So I've been spending as much time indoors lately as possible.  Except for brunch y'all... I will brave any weather for brunch!  I've been wearing this Faux Leather Flyaway Moto on repeat lately!  It's warmer than I expected.  At first I was a little unsure about all the extra sweater fabric in the front (it's front heavy but you get used to it) but now I'm loving it!  It's been really windy lately and I'm finding that I can manipulate the sweater front in any way I please... turn it up for face/neck coverage, or even stick my cold hands underneath the flaps.  I don't see myself ever using the zipper pockets;  I find them hard to access because of their placement, especially with the belt, but I do like them as detailing!  I've linked the jacket below (on sale!) + the jeggings (I've seriously never owned leggings that made my butt look this good lol)

happy 2016

I'm not a person for new year's resolutions.  I just feel like they are often unattainable and too generalized to even be worth it.  But I do believe in spending some time to analyze the previous year and make some plans and set some goals for the new one.  So I have been spending a lot of time reflecting lately and really thinking about the direction I'm headed.

One of my personal goals is to just be more organized.  I desperately need to declutter my life and that's one of the first things I plan on tackling.  This isn't easy for me; It's ingrained in me to save things and try to find ways to repurpose, to always save money.  I plan on doing whatever I can to stay that way, BUT I've come to the conclusion that I need a serious purge in my life.

I wanted to start with my desk space because I want to feel organized in things like bills, blogging and my art.  {You may have seen on snapchat that I'm back to sketching!  More on this later}  The rest of my home is absolutely chaotic right now.  This is going to be a slow process...

baby it's cold outside

Happy 2016! I can't believe we're already a week into the new year!  Hope y'all had an amazing holiday season.  I don't know about you but I've been struggling to get back into a normal routine.  I've pretty much been hibernating as much as possible since baby it's cold outside!  Yesterday, in particular, was quite nasty... cold temps and thunderstorms!  Luckily it hit later in the evening so I was able to get a few things done during the day before the rain came.  I was in full on comfy mode.  This sweater is a favorite from last year.  These jeggings are new and my latest obsession {so comfy!!} And of course, Uggs are the easiest, warmest option in my book.

life skill: goal posters and vision boards

As we approach the end of 2015 and head into a new year, I just wanted to share a quick life skill that I think could make your new-year-transition the best yet!  Making new years resolutions is great and all but how many people actually follow through?  Do you think it's because people are lazy?  Or just get too busy?  Do you think people set unrealistic expectations for themselves?

I personally think it's none of the above, but rather, a lack of a clear vision on how those goals or changes are going to be accomplished.  The world has plenty of room for spontaneity, however, in my opinion, truly successful and happy people are those that don't mind spending some time planning.

So today I'm talking about vision boards or goal posters... whatever you'd like to call them.  I am most definitely a visual person and I was first taught this skill in my Mary Kay training (God bless Mary Kay!! for real y'all).  Having visual reminders as to what you really want to accomplish is a huge step in actually accomplishing those goals.  Have you ever made a vision board?  The further into Mary Kay I've gotten, the more I've realized that this is a skill that so many people I look up to have honed.

Holiday Gift Guide for the Entrepreneur / Office Supply Obsessed

You may have seen on Instagram the other day that I found the perfect planner to go with my tumbler.  I decided to purchase this Sugar Paper Polka Dot Planner at Target the other day and I love it because it's like a more affordable version (1/3 the cost!) of the Kate Spade planner.  The Kate Spade planner is smaller and includes 17 months, but I prefer having a larger planner because I have a ton of things to write down!

As the holidays approach, so does the end of 2015! (Wha?!) If you're shopping for an entrepreneur, or somebody slightly obsessed with office supplies (psstt, that's everyone shopping for me!), I've got a great gift guide for you!  Gold is still a very popular accent in homes and offices, so you really can't go wrong with anything below!  I'm in love with this white and silver globe (also comes in other colors)!  You can click the thumbnails below to shop the items!  Hope you're having a great weekend!
