Follow Friday: fort worth Instagram accounts I love

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! Apparently today is the hottest day yet here in Fort Worth! Ugh!
I wanted to do a Fort Worth related Follow Friday post and quickly share a few of my favorite Fort Worth Instagram accounts to follow! I love the history of Fort Worth and learning about historic properties and architecture. I lived downtown for almost a decade in a gorgeous historic building and I now live in a house that was built in 1910 (it's renovated). I live in a neighborhood that is passionate about the history and the homes and I love following accounts that teach me new things!

Here's a few favorites:
@historic_fort_worth
@fortworthhistorical
@fortworthyhistory

There's also a lot of change happening in Fort Worth and here's one of my favorites for showing new development:

Be sure to follow me on Instagram as well :)

If you have any others to suggest, be sure to leave a comment!! Thanks for stopping by! Hope y'all have a great Fri-YAY!!

Watermelon stripe halter

Always living life colorfully over here, especially during the summer. Summer brights and warm nights!! I love this striped halter so much. The name of the print is watermelon stripe and it definitely gives me all the summer feels! Back to school and fall fashion sales may be running rampant but y'all, it's still 100 degrees outside!

Chris and I stopped by Inspiration Alley in Fort Worth today because it's been on my to do list. Shocker that we were the only ones there at 3pm on a balls hot day lol! You can see a little bit on my Instagram Stories!
I plan on going back for many more shoots but today was a last minute "Hey we don't have the kid" moment ;-) This is only a small sampling of the murals. More on those later!!

This top has such cute details like the braided ties. Also love the peplum because that's still such a huge trend right now! You can find this halter HERE for less than $40! It's also part of a big BOGO 50% off sale so be sure to check out all of the BOGO items HERE!
Another week has flown by! What are your plans for the weekend?

Marc Fisher Mules

Happy Tuesday!! I've been loving these Marc Fisher mules this season.
 They are so comfortable!! I bought them at DSW and you can find them HERE
I really love pairing blush with olive green. I think it's a little unexpected and an easy way to transition into fall. In Texas, you have to come up with creative ways to continue your summer wardrobe (because of the heat!) but still manage to make your outfits "feel" like fall. This is where darker fall fabrics come into play and "fall" textures and patterns (plaids, chunky knits, cashmere cardigan and and ponchos, etc) You may still be wearing shorts but you can throw on a cardigan or wear some plaid :)
If you're looking to make a purchase that is a little more on the bootie side for fall, I love these other Marc Fisher ankle strap sandals!

These are pricier than the mules but the 4 color choices are more neutral AND they are currently 40% off at Nordstrom!  Pick them up while you're already making your #NSale purchases! Get them HERE

Usually I'm all about summer but this year I think I'm already so ready for fall!! Pretty sure it has something to do with toting this child around ;) What's your favorite trend for fall?

Me and mini me: swimwear

Hey y'all! Happy weekend! Today we're headed to my friend's daughter's 1st birthday party and we'll be poolside! Kendall and her friend are three months apart... I can't believe I'll be throwing a 1st birthday party in just a few short months!! Like I already cry because Kendall seems so big to me. I'll probably cry today and it's not even my child!! Becoming a mommy brings on so many emotions and milestones and I'm so thankful to have a best friend with a girl the same age and that we all can get together for special occasions like today. We are all so blessed!

I bought Kendall's cactus suit online HERE. I'm obsessed with it and I would seriously buy it for myself. I want to throw a cactus party for Kendall and my husband kind of thinks I'm nuts lol!

I bought my suit last night while grocery shopping (typical #momlife... Special order something for the kid, throw yourself together with whatever you can find last minute). But actually I wanted just a plain black suit and this was less than $10! I'm linking it online HERE BUT, it says out of stock. My Walmart had a ton... So maybe just run there in person. There's also a super cute crochet version HERE (again, my Walmart had a ton of these in store, all colors).

Hope y'all have an awesome weekend! If you're outside, remember the sunscreen. It's freaking hot in Texas! Can't wait to see how today goes! Follow along on my Instagram stories (@Texas_sass) or my Snapchat (@TX.Sass)

Kendall Renee Altizer

Well it's been a good 7 and 1/2 months since I wrote a blog post!  I feel super rusty but eager to get back to my flow.  I wanted to do a quick post to formally introduce my daughter and show a few of her newborn photos, which I'm realizing I never shared!  I'll go more in depth later about my experiences in the first few months, but for now, just a few details of her birth :)

baby bump + the big day!

Today is a BIG day!  A day that I haven’t shared with anyone except family and close friends so far.  Today we will meet our baby girl because I have a scheduled
c-section.  Let me first share that this was not at all my plan.  But isn’t that life?... you plan and plan and try to make educated decisions about what’s best for you and then wham bam, God says HE knows what’s best, not you.

I am currently a few days short of 40 weeks.  At 37 weeks I learned that my baby girl was in a breech position, after already spending a few weeks head-down.  I have no idea why she decided to turn around again, but she did and she is apparently staying put (stubborn little bugger!)  Because of a small issue I have with the umbilical cord, it’s not safe for the doctor to try to turn her or manipulate her in anyway.  So I was told to prepare for a scheduled c-section… you know, the type of birth I didn’t want and wasn’t my plan at all!

10 simple ways to welcome fall

The time has come to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.  I’ll be honest, I’m more ready than ever for this transition!  I’m now 35 weeks pregnant and so over the hot weather and summer season.  I mean, summer isn’t quite the same around here if you can’t lounge in a bikini with beers in hand!  Fall has always been my favorite for multiple reasons… the weather cooling down, football seasons starting up and the holidays like my birthday, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  And this year our little baby girl will be arriving, so that makes fall even more special!!

32 week bumpdate

Remember my adorable shirt that said “I run on coffee and lipstick”?  Well, now that I’m in my 32nd week of pregnancy, we should just change that to coffee and pajamas.  Because seriously that’s all I want to do… stay in my pjs all day every day.  I.  Am.  Exhausted.  I am definitely missing my second trimester… the phase of pregnancy where you don’t even feel pregnant, you just feel great!  Yeah, that’s over.  And while I am still aware of how lucky I am in this pregnancy and how mild my symptoms are compared to a lot of women, I still feel gross and mega-pregnant.

baby clothing clearance + texas tax-free weekend

Well I'm 30 weeks now and I've definitely hit the point of not being able to avoid the baby section in any store I enter.  The other day Chris and I went into Walmart because he needed a belt and some railroad gear, and we were also picking up a box of pasta for my mom.  I was sucked into the baby girl clothes because they are having a huge clearance event, and let's be honest, I can't avoid a clearance section for myself, let alone for my baby girl!!

kendra scott fall 2016

Last Thursday I enjoyed another great Circle Seven Five event.  One of my favorite parts of this group is that I can combine networking and girl time with things I'm interested in talking about on my blog!  The Kendra Scott store at Preston Center in Dallas was kind enough to host the #CSFpartygirls and give us a look at the new Fall 2016 collection!  You may have seen a lot on my snapchat that night (username: TX.Sass) but today I'm sharing a few photographs of all of the amazing pieces.

The CSF girls sipped on wine (I enjoyed my water!) and had light bites while browsing the store and mingling.  We even got to shop at a discount... There are many perks to being a member of Circle Seven Five!  Ask me more if you're interested (or leave your email below to request an invite... they are still offering a first month free!)  The new pieces are absolutely beautiful!
