Happy Birthday Audrey!

Today would have been Audrey Hepburn's 85th birthday!  So today I'm paying tribute to this icon and leading lady!  I wanted to start out by sharing my favorite piece of art currently in my home.  When I moved into my loft, I went shopping for large artwork to fill my walls.  I just about died when I came across this large canvas print!
It has been hanging in my bedroom ever since.  I see Audrey every morning and night.  I adore her.  I want to be like her.  She makes me happy!  I believe in Audrey ;-)
Love you, Audrey!  I think I may be busting out an Audrey movie marathon tonight!! What's your favorite movie?  Your favorite quote?  What's your favorite thing about Audrey?!  Do you love her as much as me?

P.S. Did you see Google's Audrey doodle?

Trust yourself; Trust GOD

God put a dream in your heart for you and you alone! Listen to yourself! Listen to that gut feeling; pay attention to those daydreams! HE would never give you a dream that HE didn't give you the ability to achieve <3

Don't hesitate, just do it!

Anyone else an over-thinker? I am one of those people that has a very hard time getting out of my own head. I over-think, I worry, I debate way too much... and sometimes I have to remind myself that I could spend my whole life contemplating things and never actually accomplish anything. So today is a reminder to myself, and hopefully an inspiration to others, to just stop hesitating and go DO! :-)
Happy Thursday y'all!

My train is leaving the station

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! It's back to work for me... after about a week of family time and not much work, it's time to get back in the groove!

I heard this quote the other day and I wrote it down. (Side note: I always keep a pad of paper sitting next to me... I'm one of those people that has tons of post-its and tiny pieces of paper sitting around that say all kinds of random things from reminders to blog ideas to gift ideas for friends & family to shopping lists to quotes)

"Get on the train or get out of the way!"
Right now, I can't even remember what tv show I was watching when I heard this, but it actually made me pause the tv to write it down. When you think about it, it's a really powerful quote, especially when applied to a young business woman. I have dreams and aspirations of how I want my life to be... and eventually you realize those are never just going to happen, you have to make it happen. You have to decide what you want, have it very clear in your head... better yet, put what you want in front of you... make a goal poster, make a collage of pictures of your dream home and dream job and places you want to go... do whatever you have to do to remind yourself every day what you want out of life. This is the slow chugging along part of the train... just go with me here :-)

Once you spend that time and you have your dreams in front of you, it's time to pick up speed! Get your train goin' and don't stop! If you happen to find some inspirational people along the way you want to add to your train, sure, as Lloyd said to Harry, "Pick 'em up!" lol. But don't you dare stop your train for anyone else! When you are your own powerhouse, people will either get on or get out of your way. And your momentum builds.

I'm loving this quote and it's something that I'm truly trying to apply to myself personally and in my business. I have somewhere I want to go and my train is about to take off on a great journey! :-)

What are your dreams? Where do you want to be in 10, 20, 30 years? What do you do every day to get a little closer to those dreams? Keep chuggin'!! ;-)

a little serious on Sunday night

I've had a lot on my mind lately... with the reunion coming up and the fun I've been having going through boxes of old photographs from High School, I've started to reflect on a lot of things.  Not just things from High School, but everything in the past few years. When you get to be in your late 20s, inevitably you reach a point where you have to examine yourself, your actions, your habits, everything... and it can be uncomfortable and difficult because it's always easy to look at everyone else, but the hardest thing to look at yourself. And even though you might come to a conclusion you don't always like, you have to remember to not get down on yourself for your past mistakes. Mistakes are life. It's just important to recognize them and learn from them... not to dwell on them.

I happened to catch the end of a Sex and the City episode when I turned on my TV tonight, and it's almost like the episode was playing just for me to hear this quote.  I needed to hear this quote today ❤

Yup.

Believe in yourself! I love the above pic, it's pretty and girly and RIGHT! Mary Kay Ash always said "If you believe it, you can achieve it!"

And here's a quote I read from Bethenny Frankel's "A Place of Yes" the other night (have I mentioned I LOVE her like whoa?!)....

"I say, never be embarrassed if you're working hard and doing what you need to do. Never care what people think, as long as you feel that what you are doing is right."

So think, pray, feel and take the time to figure out what YOU believe in and what YOU want to fight for, change, etc. Then go make it happen! A girl with a whole lot of FAITH (and a little bit of sass to overcome her naysayers) can go as far as she wants!
