Alex and the basic blogger b*tch brunch

Today I just wanted to share some mad love for a blogger babe that does so much for this blogging community!  Alex, the Basic Blogger Bitch, is my homegirl now and I'm not exaggerating when I say I feel truly blessed to know her and to be in her space!  This girl has crazy blogging skills... her blog is killer!... but she also has this skill for bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome and special.

I have so much respect for Alex and her owning her "basic blogger" status.  She turned criticism into a brand and I'm so impressed by that.  I'm obsessed with her story and her blog name!  I can tell you right now that I had nowhere near the confidence she does when I was in my 20s... and let me be very clear here... it's CONFIDENCE not arrogance.  She owns who she is and what she loves to do; she didn't allow anyone's whispering in her ear to deter her from what she wants to be doing.  On top of that, she has dedicated a lot of time to helping other bloggers with their journey as well as organizing brunches to bring so many of us together throughout DFW.  It actually makes me emotional to know that she saw something in me way back when and decided to include me in her Basic Blogger Bitch Brunches!  Thank you Alex!

a few Fort Worth Christmas events I'm looking forward to

Happy December!!  I can't believe how quickly the holidays are coming... that Thanksgiving is already over a week past and we're into the last month of the year!  The holidays go by so quickly so I've tried really hard to be as on top of things this year as I can be.  I'm already done with a lot of my shopping; we've had our Christmas tree up for a week now... and we're working on the outside lights next!  Hopefully this weekend!  (That's on you, hubby!!)

We haven't attended any holiday events yet which is strange for us, but hey, life is busy!  But since today is the first day of December, I thought I'd share some events that I have my eye on and I'm looking forward to!

One dress styled three ways

 Happy Saturday y’all! Who is going to Arts Goggle later? We’ll be headed there after Kendall‘s nap. Can’t wait to see everything! Today I wanted to share quickly how I styled one dress from Wanderer three different ways. The Texas weather is always insane and if you live here you know that you have to check the weather every morning before leaving the house haha! This is why it’s so important to have versatile pieces that you can wear different ways. 

My go to pieces lately have been dresses and skirts because they can be styled so many different ways! This polka dot dress is such a cute find! Because Wanderer is a boutique with ever changing inventory, you can always contact them or message them on their social media to check what’s available, sizes and pricing! Not everything will be shown on their website.... and guess what? That means you’re sure to get adorable clothing that you won’t see every single girl wearing. I’ve paired the dress with booties for fall vibes without sweating in the Texas humidity, heels and a fur vest for a fun dressed up look that would be perfect for date night, and over-the-knee boots and a cardigan for days that a little colder! In the fort: Fort Worth murals, near southside #youarenear

 Good morning and happy Labor Day y’all! Hope you’re enjoying some relaxing time and finishing out your summer strong! Just want to keep today’s post short and sweet. I know that as bloggers we’re always looking for interesting places to shoot photos, and I know my fellow Fort Worth locals are always wanting to know the latest in the newest neighborhoods and hot spots... so today I want to share photos of a giant mural in the Near Southside. The biggest mural is realitively new although it’s been there as little while now. You may not have seen it but it’s right by where I used to live and it’s super close to one of the hottest areas in Fort Worth, South Main (location below pics). Make sure you look closely at this mural... there are so many iconic Fort Worth things! Can you find the panther?

 Today’s the day! I was so fortunate to be invited to an influencer tasting at Cru Food and Wine Bar in the Shops at Clearfork last week and today I would love to share a recap of the food we tasted and our experience! I was so excited to be invited to this tasting! The Shops at Clearfork have not only been a great destination for me and my family but they’ve been extremely supportive of local bloggers and influencers!  The service at Cru was top notch and everyone was so welcoming.

Happy weekend! Is anybody else already totally worn out from this holiday week? We mostly celebrated last weekend and or an actual fourth so I’m not sure what will be doing this weekend but I think it will be a little more low-key. I’ve been trying really hard to last few months to take better care of my skin and give myself a little love.

EVERYTHING.  I was really excited about this Stars & Stripes top because I’m always looking for a cute way to celebrate a holiday.   I also have a thing for three-quarter length sleeves and long shirts that you can either front-tuck or wear with leggings and this top has all of those things.  It is also super soft and I’m not lying when I say I’ve been wearing it for three days in a row! 🤣 There’s only a few sizes left in this top so if you’re interested in it make sure you grab it right away.
